Gen. Gutti Replaces Karuhanga as Army Court Chairman

President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti as the new Chairman of the Makidye based General Court Martial.

Gen Gutti replaces the late Maj. Gen. Levi Karuhanga who succumbed to a heart related ailment last month.

The UPDF spokesperson Lt. Col Paddy Ankunda confirmed this development as “correct” when contacted by Chimpreports.

Like his predecessor, click let Gen Gutti previously served commander of the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM); between 2012 and 2013.

Before his deployment to Somalia, he was the commandant of the Uganda Senior Command and Staff College at Kimaka in Jinja.

Gutti’s appointment comes as a relief to the army court, whose business was brought to a halt with the unprecedented demise of its head on April 21st.

Gen Karuhanga died shortly after arriving at his home in Kampala, from India where he had a heart operation.
