Gabon, Slovakia Included in Cranes BuildUp As Fufa Outs Final Programme

It’s exactly 31 days to the first match of the 2017 Africa Cup Of Nations and Fufa has just confirmed the final preparation for the national team- the Uganda Cranes which include a high profile friendly with Slovakia.

The playing unit will kick off with a mandatory medical checkup on Wednesday 15 December at the Mulago National Referral Hospital.

Residential training commences on Monday 19 and a one day Christmas break before the official sendoff dinner on Boxing day.

The team will fly to Gabon a day later to prepare for the Thursday friendly with the Afcon hosts in their first build up friendly.

Thereafter they embark on a journey to Tunisia for a three day camp and friendlies against the Carthage Eagles and Libya.

“We are doing everything possible to ensure the team gets the best desired preparations, information pills ” Fufa spokesman Ahmed Hussein told ChimpSport after releasing the programme.

“The federation is working closely with the government to achieve this. So far I can say everything is moving in a positive direction.”

The Cranes will complete their build up with a nine-day camp in Dubai where they are scheduled to face Afcon defending champions Ivory Coast and European side Slovakia.

According to sources around the federation, unhealthy the team requires about 8 Billion shillings for the whole preparation.

The federation has pulled nearly half the resources while government is supposed to cover the gap.

December 27: Team Uganda delegation leaves for Gabon

December 29: Friendly, Gabon Vs Uganda

January 1-4: Camp in Tunisia and trial games versus Tunisia and Libya

January 5-14: Camp in Dubai with friendly matches against Slovakia and Ivory Coast
