Playing their maiden game in the top flight division, the school side came into the game as underdogs but were able to shock She Corporates in their own backyard winning the game 3-2.
New recruit,Alice Kalimba from Rwanda gave She Corporate the lead but a brace from Mutuuzu Lilian and Resty Nanziri ensured Uganda Martyrs bagged all three points despite Aisha Namubiru scoring another goal for She Corporate later in the game
The home side began explosively creating several chances but failed to burry them with Halima Kembabazi,Tina Nambirigge and Winnie Mirembe failing to find the target.
It was Alice Kalimba who broke the deadlock giving She Corporate the lead in the 23rd minute.
A throw-in from Stella Kaliba met Kalimba who dribbled past two defenders before taking a shot that deflected off defender Shadia Nankya for She Corporate’s first goal.
Kembabazi had a chance to double the lead 10 minutes later after going past Uganda Martyrs’ defence but her feeble shot was easily tamed by goalkeeper Nakayondo Pamela.
Mutuuzu Lilian a minute later had a chance for Uganda Martyr’s to level matters but her shot ricocheted off the crossbar to deny her.
It was a different ball game after recess with the visitors returning recharged and in the 47th, Mutuuzu’s attempted cross found it way to the back of the net beating goalkeeper Judith Ingabire.
Agnes Kamugereza paved way for Gloria Namugerwa in the 49th minute for the visitor’s first change.
Before She Corporate could regain composure, Lilian Mutuuzu scored another goal for Uganda Martyr’s.
A mess up between Memory Nampijja and Clemente Mukamana gifted the ball to Mutuuzu who slotted the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper in the 51st minute.
Five minutes after the hour mark, striker Resty Nanziri stretched the lead for the new comers once again punishing She Corporate for poor defending.
Halima Kembabazi was later withdrawn for Sharon Oyenyboth in the 77th minute after the former picking an injury.
Aisha Naburu restored some hope for She Corporate scoring with 12 minutes to time but Uganda Martyr’s held on to take maximum points.
