Eastern Heroes 1-0 Ajax Queens

Ajax Queens missed out on the chance of ascending to the summit of Victoria group after suffering a shocking defeat to Eastern Heroes.

After salvaging a draw against Olila High School on Tuesday, pill Ajax Queens had a chance to go top of the Victoria group with victory against Eastern Heroes.

However, Eastern Heroes went against all odds to pick a vital 1-0 win in a Fufa Women Elite game played in Soroti on Wednesday.

The game delayed to kickoff for close to an hour with the pitch unmarked while the match officials also arrived late.

The all-important goal was scored by Rachael Nabalanyo  in the first half as Eastern Heroes registered their second win this season.

The other victory (also 1-0) came against She Makerere on Sunday at the same ground.

The result means Eastern Heroes move out of the relegation zone and are now 5th on the table with 8 points while Ajax Queens who suffered their second loss this season remain 2nd in Victoria group with 17 points, two behind leaders Uganda Martyr’s.

The league takes a two weeks’ break with Fufa women’s cup action this weekend(4th and 5th March) while the following weekend will be occupied with the annual Maama Becca cup.
