The Shadow Minister of Defense, tadalafil http://cdcsmiles.com/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-posts-list-table.php Muwanga Kivumbi has angrily attacked the Inspector General of Police (IGP), accusing him of undermining Parliament by summoning the Committee of Defense to a meeting at Serena Hotel.
The irritated shadow minister told the media on Friday that it was embarrassing that the committee which is chaired by the police’s former spokesperson Judith Nabakooba was being tossed by the Police boss.
The committee months back took a decision not to handle police matters anymore until Kayihura appears before it in person.
However to Kivumbi’s shock, the IGP sent them a message that he would only meet the Members not at Parliament by Serena Hotel.
Kayihura reportedly called the MPs though the Committee Chairperson Nabakooba, which according to the shadow minister, contravenes the operations of the house.
“Kayihura had a lot of issues to answer to the committee ranging from Besigye’s arrest, the conditions at Nalufenya Prison and many other security issues but he refused to come.
“To my dismay it is now the IGP inviting the committee in Serena. There is no way Parliamentary Committee can exercise its oversight role with a commendable level of credibility if they respond to invites from a person they are investigating,” Muwanga remarked.
“As the Shadow Minister, I strongly believe this is inconsistent, undermines that integrity of Parliament and the leadership of the committee should style up,” he said.
“Am also aware that he is trying to lobby them for a supplementary in budget because I hear he has used up all the money in his budget
“This is unbecoming of Kayihura and the committee that bends to his wishes is as good as finished.”
