A total of 564 students will receive degrees, diplomas and certificates tomorrow Friday at Bishop Barham University College, a constituent college of Uganda Christian University based in Kabale.
This will bring the 2017 UCU graduation total to 2,799, according to Michael Mubangizi, the university’s Communications & Marketing Manager.
The ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m.
According to Mubangizi, the function, which is the the fifth of seven UCU graduations for 2017 — will be preceded by the commissioning service.
The final two will be held on October 27, 2017 at UCU main campus in Mukono (including students from the Arua and Kampala campuses) and November 10, 2017 at UCU Mbale University College, as per a statement issued by the communications manager.
Among the 564 mostly Ugandan recipients of diplomas, post-graduate diplomas and bachelor and master degrees this Friday are 15 from the countries of South Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
Eighteen students (6 females, 12 males) will receive first class degrees. Just over half – 308, (55%) are male with the remaining 256 (45.4%) female.
The guest of honor will be businessman James Garuga Musinguzi.
The Chancellor and Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Grace Stanley Ntagali will preside.
