FUFA Set Five Year Strategic Plan

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has passed a five year strategic plan to develop the game of football in Uganda.

“The mission of this strategic plan is to develop, promote and protect the game of football so we thought it wise to adopt it here in the general assembly,” he added.

Magogo also stated that the core values of the strategic plan were drawn from the word FOOTBALL with each letter standing for a value.

Below are the eight key areas that FUFA will focus on in the five year strategic plan.

Governance
Under governance, FUFA hopes to improve their adherence to the national laws, resource utilisation and improve on accountability. This includes sharing books if accounts to the government, public and sponsors.

Technical development
Magogo indicated that the Federation needs to boost technical development by focusing on the youth,increasing the quality and quantity of human resource, increase the number of women and also develop beach soccer and futsal.

Competitions
Under competitions, FUFA plan to start a FUFA primary schools competition to help tap young talents. There is also a plan to revive and boost regional tournaments. Magogo also emphasized that focus will be put on strengthening elite competitions including the Azam Uganda premier league, FUFA Big league, FUFA women elite league among others.

Marketing and Communications
Magogo asserted that the Federation needs to improve on marketing ststegy through more branding to be visible to potential sponsors so as to generate revenue. He also stressed that there is an aim of improving the communication department to have smooth flow of information.

Administration
Under administration FUFA think that for football to become more professional more human resource is needed in order to run football in a more smooth way.This also includes setting up structures for decentralization of powers to run the game of football.

National teams
Another key factor that has been highlighted in the strategic plan is the national team fold. This includes the Uganda cranes,Crested cranes, Sand cranes and other youth teams.

FUFA plan to come out with  better facilitation for the national teams.

Infrastructure
FUFA plan to put up two regional stadiums by the end of 2022 and also construct a 20,000  seater stadium  in Lugazi.

Membership
Through the membership strategy, FUFA hope to undertake a regional football association strategy that will see the federation facilitating regional associations setting up well equipped  offices to monitor grass root development of the game.

There has also been a formulated solidarity policy for coaches, officials,players and referees in cases of sorrow and happiness.
