“The time, effort and resources that you have devoted to research and wildlife conservation have helped to revive the once-threatened Mountain Gorilla population and in so doing, advanced academia as well as improving the livelihoods of various communities,” noted prof. John Ddumba Ssentamu the Vice Chancellor.

Ms. Ruth is known for spearheaded the reclassification of the Bwindi Gorilla National park to such a big resourceful centre and a source of tourist attraction in the country.

In her speech, Ms. Ruth appreciated the university for giving her such honor and for recognizing her contribution towards wildlife conservation.

“I have walked with those animals for a quite a long period of time and am so happy that finally I found people who love me like the Gorillas do,” she noted.

Ms. Ruth was honored together with 67 other doctorate students in various disciplines of which 67 percent are male and 33 percent female.

The University is also looking forward to setting up a presidential library in recognition of the former president of Kenya, H.E Mwai Kibaki as the first student to attain a first class degree at the university.
The round of 64 for the 41st edition of Uganda Cup formerly known as Kakungulu Cup will be played between 14th and 28th of February 2015.

The games will be played between the 14th and 28th of February 2015. Meanwhile, FUFA Vice president Justus Mugisha has confirmed that the much awaited football symposium will take place on the 23th, Friday January.

He however said some international presenters whom they had invited will not be available and thus FUFA has gotten replacements. He remained tightlipped about the identities of individuals who have committed themselves to participating in the symposium.

FUFA has also released results for CAF C Coaching Course where 70 coaches participated. According to FUFA, 63 passed while 7 failed with Arthur Kyesiimira emerging as the best.
