Opposition Democratic Party (DP) has advised President Yoweri Museveni to start by sacking the Inspector General of Police (IGP), decease http://danielborda.net/wp-admin/includes/import.php Kale Kayihura to show to the public his commitment to fighting criminal behavior in the Police Force.
President Yoweri Museveni yesterday described the reported brutal treatment of citizens by police as wrong.
He said he was slated to hold talks with the IGP to get the full picture of the reports in the news about the police brutality.
“We find president Museveni contradicting himself. If he means what he says, medicine that he doesn’t support police brutality which has tainted the image of the force in the country and elsewhere in the world, case let him sack the IGP,” noted DP Publicity Secretary, Kenneth Paul Kakande on Tuesday.
“The president who is the fountain of honor will be believed if he calls to account Mr. Kale Kayihura for his actions; I want to see a resignation from the IGP over the actions of police since he even came out openly to condone the acts, chest thumping and justifying what the police was doing,” Kakande remarked.
Kakande added that such a person doesn’t belong to a civilized society and that he ought to be charged and tried.
“If the president says he doesn’t support police brutality and then looks the other side, we will not believe him but look at him as an accomplice.”
