Fifa Rankings: Uganda Rise Again, Comoros Still Minnows

Uganda has moved back into top 70 in the latest released rankings.

Uganda Cranes have risen three places to 69th in the recent Coca Cola Fifa rankings released on Thursday July 14th. Cranes defeated Botswana 2-1 last month on match day 5 of the 2017 Afcon group D qualifier away in Francis town.

The Victory added 22 points on Uganda’s tally to a total of 522.13 up from the previous 500 in June. They remain the highest ranked team in the region followed by Kenya who made a remarkable leap 43 spots up the chart.

Botswana lost thirteen points after the Cranes encounter dropping two places to 89th globally. Burkina Faso maintained their 73rd position while Comoros, view the next Cranes visitors, try are rooted on 155th.

World Cup Group E.

Uganda are in Group E in the Road to Russia 2018 campaign alongside continental giants Ghana (36) and Egypt (43). The two group favorites are third and fifth in Africa respectively. Congo are the group minnows at least according to the table at number 70.

Algeria (32), Cote D’ Ivore (35) and Senegal (41) complete the top five in the continent while Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile rule the globe.
