Fifa Crisis: Magogo Calls for ‘Special’ Press Conference

Moses Magogo publicized his support for outgoing FIFA President Sepp Blatter

Retired Captain James Katabazi and his wife Paulina Kamazooba have been laid to rest after perishing in a car accident at Lukaaya along Masaka-Mbarara road on Sunday.

“I wish to thank all the people that have been with us physically and spiritually, all that have given your moral and logistical support to give James and Paulina such a decent send off,” said Col Mande.

“I must commend the job done by the UPDF in honour of their fallen Retired member,” he added.

“I must give a vote of thanks to members of the government and the opposition in Uganda that converged to pay their last tribute to the deceased. That is; Minister Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi, Col Dr Kizza Besigye , Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala, Gen David Sejusa, Maj Gen Henry Tumukunde to mention but a few.”

Mande was unable to attend the funeral.

Police said they are investigating the cause of the accident.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) President Eng. Moses Magogo has called for a ‘special press conference’ on Thursday 4th June 2015 at 10AM.

The special presser comes just a day after the FIFA President Sepp Blatter announced a shocking plan to resign just four days after he was re-elected.

Fufa had publicly announced their support to the incumbent and went ahead to declare they would still vote for him amid the corruption scandals.

There has been growing tension in the football circles in the country with many pundits calling at the Fufa president to give the federation’s stand on the recent shocking developments.
