Bright Light FC squad that started against Sporting in the derby

Big league giants, ambulance Sporting United are the first beneficiaries of free points in the second division after the Fufa competitions committee ruled a case involving Bright Light stars in their favor.

The newly promoted Bright Light FC humiliated their seniors with a 1-0 win in a heated Lira derby played on Thursday, November 3rd.

However the competitions committee reviewed that two of the players used by Bright Light FC in that match were ineligible because of an earlier suspension.

“We have studied from the referees report of the above match played on November 3, 2016 that your club fielded players Okwir Bonny and Omol Erick Solomon who were sent off in just your previous match 57 played on October 23 2016 in Arua against Dove All Stars FC,” part of the statement reads.

Bonny started the game while Omol came in a substitute.

“Your club is therefore found guilty of contravention of article 29(11,12) of the Fufa competitions rules and in accordance to article 19(11) lost match 137 (earlier won 1-0) by forfeiture to Sporting United by 0-3 goals.”

Sporting United FC therefore rise to sixth with 13 points in the Elgon group while Bright Light drop just a place above relegation zone.
