Ndejje University’s race for promotion to the Uganda Premier League suffered a setback on Friday after the team lost to Lira based club Sporting United.

Team Star striker Walter Ogwang scored from the spot in the 18th minute after New signing Joachim Ojera had been hacked inside the box.

Ndejje went into the game in need of an outright win to keep pace with table leaders Maroons FC who have 29 points, mind three ahead. The result means Maroons can open the gap to six points with a win at Simba in Entebbe on Sunday.
