FBL: Masavu, Maroons Aim to Consolidate Summit Stay

Masavu drew blanks against Entebbe in the derby

Seven games will be played around the country in a continuation of the match day five of the 2016-17 Fufa big league season with only two from the Rwenzori group lined up for Thursday.

Last season playoffs candidates Masavu FC will hope to put away their poor show that has seen the team pick only one point from two fixtures; a 1-0 loss away to Suncity and a barren draw in the Entebbe last time out.

The Entebbe side are the second on the table with seven points, see http://concernedafricascholars.org/wp-includes/comment-template.php just one behind leaders Hope Doves after four rounds of play and they host Mbarara City who are third with five points but have a game at hand.  It was reported that Masavu received financial boost of above UGX 20 million in a double sponsorship deal.

In the other Rwenzori game slated for Thursday, leaders Hope Doves will seek to extend lead against Nyakasanga’s Suncity who haven’t yet lost a point drawing two and winning one.

The other game between Airtel Kitara against Water FC has been pushed to Friday due to unavailability of venue because the Boma grounds will be hosting independence day celebrations for Hoima.
