Masavu 2-0 Kataka FC

Masavu football club brightened their chances of joining the Uganda Premier League with a hard fought win against relegation candidates Kataka FC.

After a 4-0 humiliation at the hands of rivals Mbarara City last weekend, mind Masavu made quick amends with a 5-1 comprehensive victory against Igombe United in the Uganda cup in midweek.

This was followed with a 2-0 win against Kataka FC in a game played at Katabi Gombolola playground on Saturday.

Masavu needed a better performance in the second half to get past Kataka with the opening half ending in a barren stalemate.

Peter Lumoro who scored a double brace (four goals) against Igombe United broke the deadlock a minute after the hour mark to give Allan Kabonge’s charges the lead.

Onesmus Andama sealed maximum points for Masavu scoring the second goal in the 74th minute.

The result meant Masavu remain top of Rwenzori group on 40 points, page six ahead of second placed Mbarara City but with a game in hand.

Masavu have six games left to end the season with 3 at home and 3 on away ground.
