FBL: Maroons Hopeful on the Road to Lira, Masavu Aim Summit Stay

Prisons side Maroons FC embark on a seven hour journey to the northern town of Lira in a bid to reclaim their top spot in the Fufa big league standings.

Maroons currently stand on second place with 15 points trailing the Elgon table leaders Ndejje University with about four points though the warders have three games at hand.

Sporting UTD were beneficiaries of free three points after Fufa competitions committee ruled on their side despite losing to Bright light about a week ago in the derby. Bright Light had fielded ineligible players.

“We are not under pressure and taking each game at a time. The league is tough especially upcountry but the team is ready to do the best so we hope for a good game, this ” Maroons CEO Innocent Oguda told ChimpSport.

Five other games will be played on Thursday with each group scheduled to play three games.

Debutants Dove All stars from Arua have a daunting trip to Kamuli where they face Artland Katale while Kira United host another West Nile side PaidhA Black Angels.
