FBL: Maroons Held, Ndejje Thrive Away

Twenty five goals soaked in to usher the new 2016-17 Fufa big league that kicked off on Thursday across the country. Twenty teams engaged in ten matches on the opening day fixture.

Favorites Maroons football club were unlucky to drop an early first half 2-0 lead to settle for a two all draw away to west Nile giants Paidha Black Angels at the Barokoro stadium.

Edward Kwampamba and Patrick Kaddu had put the coach Asaph Tumwebaze side ahead.

Last season playoffs candidates Nfejje University were the only club that picked an away win crushing Artland Katale/Kamuli Park FC through Bernard katetemera’s lone strike. Kamuli Park bought the team from the initial owners.

Newcomers Dove Allstars and Kataka FC started off with home victories edging fellow new boys Kyambogo FC and Nyamityobira Fc 2-1 and 1-0.

Busia fisheries recorded the biggest win thumping Simba FC 4-0 at the Madibira grounds while Airtel Kitara lost 2-1 to Baza Holdings at the Kawempe Muslim grounds
