Kireka United have a realistic chance to move into the promotional positions if they can earn victory against Baza Holdings on Thursday in Kawempe and hope the other teams in contention falter.
Kireka currently occupy 6th spot on 15 points just two points behind Mbarara city who are third on the logo in the Rwenzori group.
Mbarara takes on Synergy at Kakyeka stadium while 5th placed Airtel Kitara visit leaders Masavu in Entebbe.

Ayub Khalifa’s charges will move on the same points as second placed Nyamityobora (18 points) if they pick maximum points against struggling Baza Holdings who sit 10th on the table with 11 points just a point above the drop zone.
Khalifa, the head coach at Kireka is confident his team is in the right mentality and attitude to face Baza.
“I believe the win against Hope Doves last week gives us confidence as we head into the game against Baza,” he said.
“The morale in the camp is high and we aim at ending the first round with a positive result,” Khalifa added.
Baza have won just two games this season and sit just one point above the drop zone.
In the last game played at home, the Kawempe based side lost 1-0 to Masavu.
