Farouk Miya to Sign Three Year Deal at Standard Liege

Uganda Cranes influential midfielder Farouk Miya is set to pen a three year lucrative deal with Belgian giants Standard Liege after impressive performances during the short stint.

The development was revealed by Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic through his official twitter handle.

“From most reliable source, information pills I can with pride announce that Farouk Miya will sign three years contract with Standard Liege. Sincere Congratulations,” Micho tweeted.

It has been revealed that the midfielder-cum-striker had been given only three games during the Europa playoffs to prove his worth at the club.

The Belgian cup champions signed Miya on loan until the end of this season with an option to purchase him in case he impressed the bench.

While at Liege, Miya has already won the local cup that grants the team a chance to feature in next season Europa cup.

The U-23 captain has started in the last three Europa playoff qualifiers against Waasland-Beveren (2-0 win), Kortrijk (1-0 loss) and the 4-1 victory over Mouscron-Peruwelz where he scored a classic volley in the 30th minute.

Miya was also elected the fans player of the match in the victory.
