“We have agreed a one year sponsorship package with Express worth Uganda shillings 300 million offering both sports kit and cash,” added Nakabazzi.
Steven Musoke, the chairman Multi choice Uganda said they are happy to partner with a legendary club who have shown intent of restructuring at the moment.
“Express have enjoyed success in the past and it’s against that background that we have the confidence to invest in them,” Musoke noted.
“Our sponsorship anchors on the legacy we share as brands and the credibility Express FC is showcasing especially by the appointment of their new chairman, Hon.Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi,” he further stated.
The breakdown of the sponsorship package indicates that Express will receive Ushs 50 million as the sponsorship fee while the rest will cover jerseys of players, branding of the stadium, match day activations and communication among others.
Besides that, the Pay TV will work closely with the club management to boost the team spirits by rewarding the best player of the month throughout the season and also rewarding the fans with fully connected decoders.
Club chairman, Hon Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi who was also present during the unveiling thanked DSTV for coming on board and assured them of value for money.
“We don’t take lightly your commitment. It serves as a great reminder of our legendary position in the soccer fraternity. We promise we shall keep working tirelessly and we will not disappoint,” Nakiwala noted.
“I know there have been many questions about sponsors but we have been critical enough in making our choice, we didn’t want to fall for every tom, dick and harry but rather someone who is valuable and that’s DSTV,” she stated.
With the league becoming more professional and clubs working hard to go to great strides, sponsorship has been key this season.
Express FC is the sixth club in the Uganda premier league to unveil a shirt sponsor with KCCA, SC Villa, Vipers, Onduparaka and Bright stars leading the way.
