Express Coach Lule Still Optimistic despite Loss in First Leg

Express Football club head coach Matia Lule still embeds hopes that his team can still advance to the finals of this year’s Uganda Cup despite losing the first leg.

Express FC lost 3-2 to KCCA FC in the first leg of the semifinals played on Friday at Phillip Omondi stadium but Matia Lule is confident his team can overturn the result come next week.

“I believe we still have the chance to progress to the finals. The performance today was fantastic regardless of the loss. We kept the belief and kept pushing them until the final whistle and that was quite important, recipe ’ Lule told ChimpReports.

The outspoken tactician indicates his side committed a few mistakes that cost them the game but he is confident that will be dealt with in the days prior to the return leg.

“We were a bit careless in the goals we conceded but I know that will be addressed in the remaining days ahead of the return leg, website like this ” he asserted.

Lule also asserts that it was vital that his team managed to score 2 goals away from home and thus he is confident he can overturn the result at Wankulukuku.

“We went two goals down in the game but the belief was there that were could keep the score within reach and now that we got two goals in the first leg, sales we can equally score two or more at home. We just need to minimize the mistakes at the back,” he noted.

Geoffrey Sserunkuma scored a brace while Tom Masiko netted the other goal as KCCA FC won the first leg 3-2. Allan Kyambadde and Simon Sserunkuma scored for Express.

The two sides meet on Tuesday for the return leg and the winner will face Paidha Black Angels in the finals slated for 10th June at the Greenlight stadium in Arua district.
