Exclusive: Mbabazi ‘Tally Center’ Sparks Tension in Security

Amama Mbabazi is reportedly shipping in his own tally center

Security has been tightened at Ugandan borders and Entebbe International Airport following intelligence reports that presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi intends to import information technology systems for setting up a parallel tally centre for the February 18 elections.

The shipping in of the equipment is reportedly being supported by some diplomats at the U.S. Embassy in Kampala.

“Mbabazi and his allies want to use diplomatic bags to sneak in equipment for his tally centre, more about medicine http://couponsavingfamily.com/wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php ” a high ranking security official told ChimpReports on Friday morning.

“We will not allow anyone to announce elections, http://cgt06.fr/wp-admin/includes/class-plugin-upgrader.php which is their motive. They also have an internet-enabled radio which they intend to use to declare Kizza Besigye as the winner even if he loses to President Museveni,” the source added.

This development has reportedly put the Electoral Commission under pressure. It is understood that police have held several meetings with EC deputy chairman Joseph Biribonwa to find a solution to the growing tensions.

Mbabazi recently confirmed setting up a private tally centre, warning NRM of consequences should EC results not match with his.

Sources said announcing an opposition candidate as winner of the presidential election before the official declaration from EC could cultivate ground for violence.

Speaking at Makerere University Business School grounds in Kampala on Thursday, Museveni blasted opposition politicians whom he said are preaching evil against his government yet they were beneficiaries of the system.

“They are intimidating people with war talk but I want to assure you that no one can bring war here,” Museveni charged.

“If anyone just does any stupid mistake and dares to start war, we shall demolish them. I don’t stop anyone from talking rubbish but if they dare wage war, they will be finished.”
