“Ever Jobs” Web Portal Launched in Uganda

Ministry of Education, more about http://ddmdevelopment.com/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/inc/widgets.php Science, Technology and Sports has tasked the Auditor General to undertake a forensic investigation into the alleged grabbing and mismanagement of land belonging to Educational institutions and sports facilities in the country.

Addressing journalists at the Media Centre in Kampala, the minister, Hon. Maj. Jessica Alupo informed that the Audit General will take on the task of identifying challenges in the management of land and make appropriate recommendations to address the same challenges.

Alupo observed that the investigation will cover schools and institutions identified by Ministry of Education and any other schools and institutions as the team may deem affected in the course of the audit.

“It should be firmly noted that the purpose of this audit exercise is not to target individuals but is geared to ultimately protect land belonging to Education Institutions,” Alupo emphasized.

The minister revealed that the investigation will commence as soon as possible in 30 schools across the country which include;

She added that the investigation will involve consultations with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Uganda Land Commission, Buganda Land Board and other Ministries, Agencies and Departments as the investigating team may deem relevant.

Ever Jobs Uganda [www.everjobs.ug] was unveiled today at Protea in Kampala, ed with the hope of bridging the gap between employers and job-seekers.

During the launch at Protea Hotel in Kampala, the co-founder and managing Director of the company Eric Lauer revealed that the aim of establishing this portal was to ease the burden paper work that Human Resource managers suffer during the recruitment process as well as guiding job seekers on the new job opportunities in the market.

“Ever jobs aims at streamlining the filtering process in order to promote employability in Uganda. All applicants will have their CVs reviewed by Everjobs to make sure that they have better chances of catching the attention of the employers,” remarked Eric Lauer

Eric Lauer adds that this platform will link up employers worldwide with Ugandan job-seekers where they will be able to access their CVs online hence creating a wide range of access to employment opportunities.

“Ever jobs is going to break barriers for unemployed Ugandans who have been missing out on employment opportunities due to segregative factors,” he added.

Amanda N. Engole Head of sales in Everjob Uganda emphasized that the service will be free to all job seekers who have accounts on the portal.

“By creating their accounts, the candidates are added to our database of CV’s which is frequently consulted by Directors of Human Resource” added Amanda

“There are currently about 170 career opportunities from about 70 employers on the Ever jobs platform including a large number of sectors of public sector positions with NGO’s and Health care services.”

The portal is currently operating in Cameroon, Senegal and Ivory Coast.
