EAC Youth Ambassadors Petition Museveni over Okwere Candidature

The East African Youth Ambassadors have petitioned President Yoweri Museveni asking him to support one of their own David Okwere Beecham, click http://davenportchiropractic.com/wp-admin/includes/class-ftp.php as one of the country’s representatives to the East African Legislative Assembly for the next tenure 2017-21.

The East African Community Youth Ambassadors’ Platform, mind http://debbieschlussel.com/wp-admin/includes/deprecated.php (EACYAP) is a product of inclusive initiatives by the Nyerere Centre for Peace and Research under the Department of Political Federation of the EAC Secretariat, in Arusha, Tanzania.

The EACYAP comprises a membership of over 7000 youths aged between the ages of 18 to 35 years across the East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda.

The EACYAP members this week petitioned President Museveni asking that he expresses his support for the youthful lawyer before the party leadership.

Describing Okwere as a sound advocate for the EAC, an active participant in EAC sensitization drives and an avid member of the NRM party, the youths asked that President Museveni, who is also the ruling party Chairman to ensure that he gets the “leeway” during the selection of the EALA representatives.

They noted in their petition that Mr Okwere had proven desire to EAC advocacy, growth and development as well as the professional background to legislation by being a lawyer.

Racheal Uwase Kabamba the youth ambassador of Rwanda told ChimpReports that considering the fact that the EAC has been undertaking initiatives to ensure youth participation in the integration by initiating the youth ambassador platform, she thinks Okwere’s efforts will encourage the youth to participate in the EAC advocacy .
