KCCA FC 3-0 FUS Rabat

Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) brightened their hopes of advancing to quarterfinals of the Total CAF Confederation Cup after earning a vital win against FUS Rabat.

KCCA FC put up a brilliant display earning a comfortable 3-1 win in the Total CAF Confederation Cup game played on Sunday at Star times, Lugogo.

Geoffrey Sserunkuuma, Saddam Ibrahim Juma and Isaac Muleme were all on target for the home side before the visitors pulled one back through Lamine Diakite in the closing stages of the game.

KCCA FC were dominant right from onset making several attempts while FUS Rabat were on the back foot always.

As early as the 4th minute, debutant Saddam Ibrahim Juma tested the goal keeper with the first attempt but his effort went a few inches wide.

Moments later, Muzamir Mutyaba sent a thunderbolt just outside the area but goalkeeper Aymane Majid was able to save.

KCCA FC continued to dominate with Isaac Muleme making runs on the left while Jackson Nunda and Saddam Juma bossed the midfield.

KCCA FC were awarded a penalty in the 41st minute after defender Yassiri Jarici stamped his foot on Julius Poloto inside the area and the centre referee, Norman Matemera did not hestate to point to the penalty spot.

Serunkuuma stepped up to convert the resultant penalty sending goalkeeper Aymane Majid the wrong way.

It was the same even after the mandatory break. 7 minutes after the interval, debutant Saddam Juma fired home to double the lead after a layup from Geoffrey Sserunkuma.

Juma sent a low drive just inside the area and the goalkeeper had no chance at all.

Defender Isaac Muleme put the game beyond reach in the 62nd minute with a superb half volley about 25 yards from goal.

The visitors pulled one back through Lamine Diakite who volleyed home substitute El Mehdi Bettache’s cross.

Bettache dribbled through the KCCA FC defence and laid up Diakite on the far end to fire home.

The result means KCCA FC acends to the summit of group A on 9 points ahead of FUS Rabat, Club Africain and Rivers United all level on six points.

KCCA FC final game will be away to Club Africain in Tunis,Tunisia on 8th July and need just a point to guarantee their place in the quarterfinals.
