During the function which is expected to pull at least 10, http://cdcsmiles.com/wp-includes/taxonomy.php 000 people, Bukenya will celebrate his return to the ruling NRM party.

“I appeal to my supporters to embrace this homecoming ceremony planned for October 16,” said Bukenya.

Bukenya was a strong NRM supporter only to be dismissed as Vice President after being accused of conspiring with the Catholic Church and Buganda Kingdom to topple President Museveni.

In his discussion, Bukenya attacked Mbabazi, accusing him of being a traitor of President Museveni.

Bukenya said he was tormented, harassed and hounded out of NRM because of Mbabazi’s machinations.

“Mbabazi is a divisive character. He made sure my bond with the president was split. How could I back such a person to take over presidency?” wondered Bukenya.

He narrated how he was remanded at Luzira Prison on allegations of impropriety in the procurement of vehicles for the Commonwealth meeting in 2007, saying his troubles were engineered by Mbabazi.

On the collapse of the TDA arrangement to field a single candidate, Bukenya said the process was “disorganised and poisoned” by Mbabazi.

“TDA was a good initiative but Mbabazi messed it up,” he added.

Mbabazi’s aides have previously denied allegations of dividing the coalition.

However, FDC 2016 presidential election flag-bearer, Dr Kizza Besigye said they rejected Mbabazi due to lack of determination to push the cause of accountability and good governance in the country.

In a rabble-rousing article, Bukenya last year said he would never forget a scenario when Hon Mbabazi and her sister in law Hope Mwesigye “unfairly and without shame, accused me before the President with purely made up stories.”

Bukenya quoted Mbabazi and Mwesigye as saying that while on his Prosperity for All Tours in Kigezi in his capacity as Vice President, he only visited homesteads of Catholics and that he was sleeping at the Catholic Bishop’s residence for night political campaign meetings.

“I watched in utmost disbelief, Hon Hope Mwesigye and Hon Mbabazi both boldly tell blatant and cooked up lies to the President in my presence. Fortunately President Museveni listens and does so patiently without panic and emotion. Otherwise he would have sealed off my fate there and then as a treason suspect,” recounted Bukenya.

“I must confess though, that my disagreement with President  Museveni and the  entire NRM  party of late has never been on the leadership style of the leader Museveni, but rather on his and the party’s failure to resist selfish schemers, who want to feel good victors all the time as others get trodden down. Treating all members of the party equally and giving them equal attention is the issue.”
