According to officials from State House, the President said he had desisted from commenting on the issue of Gen. Ssejusa but in this meeting explained in details the circumstances that surrounded the return of the former coordinator of intelligence organs.

 

“When I learnt that he wanted to come back, I sent 3 people to contact Gen. Tinyefuza regardless of what has happened. I would see how to ensure his safe entry and sort out all the confusion arising from his stay in London,” the President said in the   meeting according to State House officials.

Among those officials sent to Sejusa included Micheal Katungi and Janet Anyine who contacted initiated talks for the General’s return.

“He agreed to come back at his own cost. I had seen in the papers that he had been bribed but that is not true. We actually wanted to give him an air ticket but he said he was a rich man. I don’t know where he got the money from.”

Newlyweds Andrew Deshi and Taratibu Kananura received a special gift from Fly Emirates while aboard one of their aircrafts heading to Island Maldives Capital Malé.
