Players stretch in training on Friday at Namboole

The Uganda Cranes continued with preparations ahead of the highly anticipated double header against Rwanda.

Training under the watchful eyes of interim coaches Moses Basena and Fred Kajjoba entered day three on Friday.

Unlike the previous two days where the team trained on the main pitch. This time round the session was held at the outside pitch.

Besides midfielder Nicholas Kasozi who sustained an injury, it was full house with all the summoned players showing up.

These were joined by foreign based players Dennis Iguma and Khalid Aucho.

The players were taken through the usual drills of playing in small confines before playing out a full pitch.

Youngster Frank “Zaga” Tumwesigye who is on the national team for the first time was quite impressive.

Savio Kabugo who did not train on Thursday after getting engaged with his clan in the ongoing Bika Football tournament was also part of the drills.

Uganda takes on Rwanda on 12th August in the first leg at St.Mary’s stadium Kitende before a return leg in Kigali a week later.

The winner on aggregate will represent the Cecafa region at the 2018 CHAN final tournament to be held in Kenya.

Training continues on Saturday at 4pm while Sunday will be a rest day. The rest of the sessions next week will be conducted at St.Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
