Dates Set for Eastern G4 Tournament

”It’s a tournament that will prepare our players well ahead of the season,” Jinja SS PRO Mr. Paul Kulumba said during the launch at Busoga Kingdom headquarters.

Organizers revealed talks were going on to lure a guest team to the tourney.

“We are looking at a possibility of inviting Azam FC from Tanzania, Onduparaka, Express FC or URA,” Tournament coordinator Joseph Mutaka hinted adding that “The invitation will be on first come, first serve basis. We want only one guest.”

The four teams (plus a fifth one in case of a guest) will face each other in a round robin league format where the team with highest number of points emerge winners and take home medals on top of one million shillings.

According to the rules of the tournament, a win earns a team three points and a draw one point. However, in a bid to push for entertaining football, each goal will add an additional point.

Bul FC finished the league on 6th with 47 points, four ahead of Sadolin who were 9th. JMC ended on the tenth with 38 points while Jinja SS won the Fufa Big league season to earn direct promotion.
