South Sudan vs Uganda

Juba stadium

Uganda Cranes begin their bid to make the 2018 Championship of African Nations with a fixture against South Sudan.

The Cranes who have qualified for the last three editions will be seeking for a return to the tournament that is only played by home based player.

The team that left on Thursday aboard Ethiopian airlines are in buoyant mood ahead of the encounter.

Team captain Geoffrey Sserunkuuma believed the summoned squad is good enough to get Uganda Maximum points.

“We have trained hard over the last five days, everyone is set for the game and we are all targeting victory in Juba,” said Sserunkuma who was named skipper earlier this week.

The winner on aggregate between Uganda and South Sudan over the two legs will face either Tanzania or Rwanda at the next stage of the qualifiers.
