Court Releases Alshabaab Terror Suspects

Yasimin Abdullahi Aden and Hodan Ahmed Dahir, both Somali women were jointly charged with 8 other men, 7 who are Somalis and a Kenyan for aiding and abetting Terrorism.

The duo, together with the other seven, was also accused of belonging to the terrorist groups Al-Shabaab and Al-Qaeda.

Grade one Magistrate Pamela Lamunu Ocaya was yesterday presented with withdrawal forms dated 15th.Jan.2015 and signed by Chibita instructing her to release the 2women and send back the rest on remand in Luzira prison, to be investigated further.

On September 13, Uganda Police apprehended these suspected Al Shabaab militants from their cell in Kisenyi, a Kampala suburb.

Police detained the suspects after alleged intelligence reports that they were plotting to attack Kampala shopping malls.
