Court Martial Hands Killer 30 Years in Jail

Convict Abdul Sengendo in court

The Makindye General Court Martial has sentenced 32year old Abdul Sengendo to 30 years in jail after being convicted of murdering Nile Breweries Engineer Etuke Charles and Aggravated Robbery.

Court chairman Major General Levi Karuhanga considered the mitigating factors which were presented by both the defense and state counsels as the well as the five year period the convict has spent on remand.

“Being that the convict is not a first offender, having been convicted by this court on three capital offences, this court sentences you Sengendo to 30 years in prison  for the case of murder, and ten years for the second count and these sentences are to run concurrently,” ruled Karuhanga
