Lweza football club has maintained their winning form registering the second league victory in four days and the first at home defeating SC Victoria University by 2-1 in a tightly contested affair at Wankulukuku stadium.

The Anti-corruption court judge Margaret Tibulya has sentenced a police officer to a one year imprisonment term for soliciting and receiving a 150, order 000 shillings bribe in order to release a rape suspect from police custody.

Detective AIP Godfrey Bonyo formerly the Officer –in- charge of Kazo police station in Kiruhura district has also been banned from holding any public office for a period of ten years by Justice Margret

This was after Justice Tibulya dismissed Bonyo’s appeal against the sentence and upheld the lower court’s decision saying courts cannot ignore public outcry against corruption in the police force.

Prosecution evidence proved that between 4th and 5th August 2012, pills Detective Bonyo was arrested while demanding for 400, 000 shillings and receiving 150,000 shillings from a one Sulah Katongole
as an inducement to release and set free his brother Hakim Sebyanzi who had been detained by police  over  rape charges.
