Conservationists to March in Protest of Bugoma Forest Give Away

The Association for the Conservation of Bugoma Forest together with a group of other conservationist NGOs and the National Forestry Authority, malady http://christchurchcathedral.org.au/wp-includes/wp-diff.php have kick started a campaign to impede the ongoing attempt to give away a significant block of Bugoma Central forest reserve in Hoima district.

The association started in 2014 with the aim of planting trees to create a home for the chimpanzees which are only less than 5000 in Uganda so far.

Charles Nsubuga a representative from Destination Jungle Ltd one of the protesting bodies said that destroying that part of the forest would be a big blow to the tourism industry in the forest.

They organizations while addressing press in Kampala on Monday called for a full investigation of the illegal operations by the investors in Bugoma forest and recommend that all the damage so far caused to the environment be compensated.

Costantino Tessarin the chairperson of the Association for the Conservation of Bugoma Forest said called Ugandans to join them in a peaceful march in protest of the giveaway, which will take place on 6th July from Nsozi Forest station of Bugoma forest. Its aim is to raise public awareness about the importance to protest Bugoma forest.
