Confirmed: Onyango Ruled Out of Uganda-Congo Duel

Dennis Onyango was injured during a Caf confederations final against Zamalek in Egypt

Cranes head coach Micho revealed the information arguing that the team cannot be priority over Onyango’s health.

“He has been out of action since that match in Caf champions league finals on 21st October.”

Onyango was injured while on duty for his club in the second leg of the 2016 Caf confederations final against Zamalek in Egypt and had been sidelined to allow him recover.

“Between having him for Congo Brazzaville or Afcon finals, I would always choose Afcon. He will be missed but no match is more important than Denis career and life,” he added.

Cranes will now choose among the four custodians in camp including Robert Odonkara who was in goal in the 1-0 loss against Zambia.

Others are El Merreikh’s Salim Jamal, Benjamin Ochan (KCCA FC) and Ismail Watenga (Vipers)

The match will be played on Saturday at Namboole stadium from 4:00 pm local time.
