Two men and a woman are being held by police in Jinja after they were found in illegal possession of UPDF uniforms.
The suspects have been identified as Abdallah Rashid Opio, ask Abdu Erwaga and Angella Baako, http://coaststringfiddlers.com/wp-admin/includes/ajax-actions.php all residents of Mpumudde in Jinja Municipality.
Jinja OC Station Tyson Rutambika says the trio was arrested after a tip off by concerned residents who always saw them donning army fatigues and showing off that they are army officers.
Rutambika says these are suspected to be criminals who have been terrorizing people in
and around Jinja.
He says there preliminary investigations show that Abdullah Rashid Opio was a UPDF officer though he was dismissed with disgrace in 2009.
When asked where they got the four pairs of uniforms, http://ctabuenosaires.org.ar/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sync/class.jetpack-sync-module-updates.php the accused said the uniforms belong to their relative identified as Dominic Kyandiga who is a UPDF officer currently deployed in Somalia.
Dominic Kyandiga’s mother who is the custodian of these uniforms was shocked to learn that they were stolen from his suit case by her sister Angella Baako who is among the suspects.
Kandiga left his suitcase at his mother’s place in Mpumdde but the mother says she was not aware how the uniforms landed into the hands of Baako and the group.
The suspects are being held at CPS Jinja waiting to be transferred to Nalufenya Police station where high profile suspects are kept.
