Former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi today Tuesday travels to Kapchorwa for consultative meetings and a public rally.

Mbabazi’s first rally pulled thousands of people at Mbale Cricket Oval on Monday.

He vowed to tackle what he described as a crumbling healthcare system and poor education which was becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Mbabazi also spoke about human rights and crackdown on political dissent, generic http://childrensclasses.org/wp2012/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/3rd-party/3rd-party.php saying the Constitution should be upheld on issues related to governance.

In Kapchorwa, buy Mbabazi will hold his public address at Boma Grounds.

By 10:30am, Mbabazi was still at his hotel room at Elgon Hotel in Mbale.

It is understood a section of Mbabazi’s campaign agents has already left to Kapchorwa to prepare for his arrival.

The distance from Mbale to Kapchorwa is about 65 kilometres which is about one hour and 15 minutes drive.

The town is the birthplace of golden athletes Stephen Kiprotich and Joshua Cheptegei.

Having a passion for sports, Mbabazi is expected to make remarks on boosting Uganda’s sports industry.

“Since emerging as TDA flag bearer depends on one’s political strength, each candidate shall be required to traverse the entire country, upon which his support shall be gauged,” Kakande observed.

“These consultative meetings and town hall meetings will help TDA get a picture on who is a suitable candidate; and through these meetings one must prove the support he has on the ground.”

So far only two candidates have returned TDA forms including Prof. Gilbert Bukenya and Norbert Mao.

Australia-based cardiologist Dr Aggrey Kiyingi whom Uganda Police accuses of running a clandestine rebel movement has claimed that his aide’s house has been raided by the military.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga could not be immediately reached on his mobile phone for comment.

Kiyingi alleged that Bulira’s residence is still surrounded, adding, “Every peace loving person should voice their objection to this tyranny and intimidation.”

He said Bulira has not committed any crime.

Bulira recently appeared at Electoral Commission to appear forms for Kiyingi but the request was rejected.

Uganda Police asked Interpol to arrest and hand over Kiyingi to Kampala for prosecution.

Several supporters of Kiyingi were recently arrested and jailed on charges of subversion.

State prosecution said Kiyingi has been providing logistical and financial support to the terrorist Allied Democratic Forces to destabilise Uganda.

During the trial of the suspects, prosecution promised to provide irrefutable evidence pinning Dr Kiyingi in raising funds to support the recruitment of ADF combatants and assassination of Muslim leaders in the country.

Kiyingi denies the allegations.

Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Flavia Nabakooza has Tuesday convicted former Sports Club Villa manager Chris Mubiru of sodomy.

Nabakooza said prosecution submitted substantial evidence implicating Mubiru in “having canal knowledge against order of nature against a young boy, what is ed http://cdkstone.com.au/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/api/class-wc-rest-reports-controller.php Emmanuel Nyanzi.”

The magistrate said her decision was based on evidence of the prosecution witnesses who included the victim, Pastor Solomon Male and police officers.

Prosecution successfully argued that Mubiru had sexual intercourse with a male person against the order of nature contrary to Section 145(a) of the Penal Code Act.

He was arrested in 2014 upon his return from abroad where he was reportedly hiding from justice.

Pastor Male told court during the trial that he got to know about Mubiru’s sodomy antics in 2004 at a crusade he had organized in Namungoona, a Kampala suburb, when some of his (Mubiru’s) sodomy victims turned up among the congregation.

He also tendered video evidence pinning Mubiru in sodomising boys.

Male told court that several football players at SC Villa had fallen victim to Mubiru but feared to expose him due to his connections in security organs.

After today’s ruling, Male praised court for the ruling which he said is a “big warning to those involved in acts of sodomy that the law will catch up with them.”

The magistrate set September 18 for the sentencing of Chris Mubiru.
