Chinese Quack Doctors Nabbed in Buhweju

Police in Buhweju district last Friday arrested four quack medics of Chinese origin, salve following complaints from locals and the Resident District Commissioner Emmy Kateera.

The fake doctors were reportedly moving around claiming to heal all sorts of diseases and charging large sums of money from locals.

Police identified the arrested as Kyogchol Kim, Ham Youngsik, Insuku Lee and Chu Hyum Kim, all of who were found without operation licenses.

Police also has in detention two local residents Amos Ndyomubandi and Pastor Isaac Turyamureba who it says were helping the Chinese conduct the illegal business.

The RDC Kateera told Chimpreports that numerous residents approached him with complaints about the foreigners who were claiming to heal diseases, “but their medicine was not working.”

“The group was moving house to house claiming to treat both children and adults suffering from different diseases at an affordable cost,” he said.

The District Police Commander Ben Nuwamanya on receiving the information launched an operation that apprehended all four and their accomplices from Bihanga, Karungu Sub County in Buhweju district.

The DPC said after investigations are complete, the arrested with be taken to courts of law and charged with impersonation and other relevant cases.
