Police on Friday morning cordoned off Nsambya Sharing Hall and arrested a number of Members of the Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) who were lining up to attend a controversial Democratic Party Conference.
The Conference was called by one of DP leaders and Mukono Member of Parliament, generic http://cizgisactasarim.com/wp-admin/includes/class-walker-nav-menu-checklist.php supposedly to discuss what she calls creation of the “Bad DP, http://chasingjamesbeard.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/shortcodes/vimeo.php ” one that is different to the “Good DP” which is in bed with President Yoweri Museveni and the ruling NRM party.
Police commanded by Kampala RPC Geofrey Kahebwa sealed off the area and roughly arrested some of the members that arrived early for the meeting.
The conference organizer Hon Nambooze was yet to arrive at the time police swung into action.
Chimpreports understands that the UYD members arrested at the hall were all taken to Kaswa Police Station
The Conference was initially cleared by police, http://cccnt.com.au/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/pipe.php which however changed its mind today.
RPC Kaheebwa told press at the venue that despite their clearance, they got complaints from the opposition party offices about the meeting intentions.
The Party President Norbert Mao maintains that the conference is against the party constitution; and recently threatened to expunge Nambooze and her group from the party.
His recent reconciliatory meeting with the Mukono MP, did not bear much fruit.
