CHAN 2018: Caf Still Hold Hopes in Kenya Hosting

Confederation of Africa Football Associations, erectile CAF, check has exuded confidence that Kenya will be ready to host the 2018 Africa Nations Championship finals.

The Caf executive committee sat on Tuesday in Addis Ababa in a meeting chaired by the federations long serving president Issa Hayatou to deliberate on various issues.

“Significant progress has been made on the ground and there is a strong government commitment to host the competition and make it a success, sick ” Caf noted

Kenya won the bid to host the biennial event after a successful tourney in Rwanda in 2016 but are still struggling to put up the fundamental facilities, mainly the stadiums.

Caf’s position was drawn after the First vice president Suketu Patel visited and inspected five of the venues last month. In case Kenya fails, North African nation Morocco and Ethiopia are rumored to be firmly in contention.

“The inspection team visited the various sites, including Nairobi, with two stadiums, Eldoret, Meru and Machakos.”

Kenya previously lost the Afcon 1996 hosting rights to South Africa.
