CHAMPIONS: Walusimbi’s Brilliance Gifts Gor Mahia the Title

All the Uganda Handball Super League second leg fixtures that were scheduled for Saturday 19th September at the Mandela national stadium have shifted venue to Nkumba University.

“This weekend’s games in the Uganda Handball Super League have been moved from Namboole Stadium to Nkumba University grounds, visit ” Uganda Handball Federation (UHF) secretary  Carl -Augustine Mugalu informed ChimpSports.

“The cause of the changes is because the stadium has been booked for prayers all through the weekend, abortion ” he added.

The weekend fixtures remain as earlier scheduled;

10.00 am – UPDF vs. Nkumba University Tornadoes

11.30 am – Ndejje University Lady Scorpions vs. Prison Lady Spears

1.00 pm – Ever Green vs. UPDF

2.30 pm  – Kifaru vs. Kakungulu Memorial

4.00 pm – Police Metro vs. Ndejje University

5.30 pm – Arrows vs. Prison Spears
Kenyan giants Gor Mahia Fc are the champions of the 2015 Kenya premier league after collecting an assailable 66 points following the team’s 1-0 victory over Sony Sugar fc on Wednesday night.

Ugandan defender-cum-Midfielder Godfrey Walusimbi was at the centre of action curling a beautiful 44th minute cross that beat former URA goalie Allan Owiny for Innocent Wafula to head in the only goal.

The league victory is a record 15th for the champions who now keep the trophy after defending it twice in a row.

Walusimbi picks his second while fellow compatriot Khalid Aucho gets his maiden crown after jumping ship from Tusker Fc in the first leg.

Ugandans, sale Allan Owiny and Andrew Ssekayombya featured for the sugar millers in the loss while Ugandan-born-Rwandan international Meddie Kagere feautered for Gor.
