2016 Cecafa women championship striker Neddy Atieno has opted to join the Kenya Armed forces after successfully going through the fitness tests carried out last week in Nairobi.

The Harambee starlets forward scored five goals to emerge second best scorer in the regional women’s tournament that took place at the Fufa technical centre in Njeru in September.

Neddy was absent in the Kenya squad that defeated Egypt 1-0 on Friday with her first team replacement Vivian Corazon Aquinho providing the all-important goal.

A section of media and fans had renounced the striker from the national team but she has come out to quash the reports.

“I haven’t quit playing football because some are saying so, pills http://ctabuenosaires.org.ar/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sync/class.jetpack-sync-queue.php some will miss me in action, http://cubanet.org/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-base.php ” she posted. “But I have just taken a short break and I will be back soon.”

The development comes just a few days before the Kenya women team fly to Cameroon for the 2016 Africa Women Cup of nations to be held in Cameroon from 19th November.

“And thanks so much my fans for respecting  and supporting  my decision all I want  is your prayers  which will make me strong,” she added.

Kenya is pooled in group B alongside Nigeria, Mali and Ghana.
