It was pomp at the Ministry of Defense Headquarters in Mbuya on Tuesday afternoon as the newly promoted Uganda People’s Defense Forces officers were decorated.

David Muhoozi, http://chipinhead.com/wp-includes/kses.php his deputy, Lt Gen Wilson Mbadi, Col Don Nabaasa – Commander Special Forces, Maj.Gen Proscovia Nalweyiso and Maj Gen Peter Elwelu, the Commander Land Forces.
Speaking at the function, the new CDF, Gen. David Muhoozi applauded the Commander in Chief President Yoweri Museveni for giving him a chance to exhibit his leadership skills by promoting him to the highest rank in the UPDF and also appointing him to the highest office in the army.
“It is a big task upon me but I will not chicken out. I will work hard as expected by the Commander in Chief. It is a reflection of the trust he has in me,” the soft spoken new CDF Gen. David Muhoozi said.
He also acknowledged the contribution of his predecessors whose foundation he said, the army is now riding on.
He said that it is now their time to carry on the job of ensuring the country remains safe and stable so as to propel development.
“We are now embarking on a 24 hour duty as a new team worth of sacrifices to make. We should always do our job well and fully.”
The outgoing CDC Gen. Katumba said at the event that he felt happy that a new blood of young army leadership is coming on board, and expressed optimism that these will be able to steer the UPDF to greater heights.
The other promoted UPDF officers pipped on Tuesday included Col Abel Kandiho, Chief of Military Intelligence, Brig Charles Lwanga Lutaaya, Air Force Commander, Maj Gen Joseph Musanyufu, Joint Chief of Staff , Maj Gen Charles Otema, Commander Reserve Forces and Maj Gen Henry Matsiko, the new Chief Politcal Commissar of the UPDF.
