Captain Mukula Dragged to Court Over Helicopter

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairman for Eastern Region Captain Michael Mukula has been dragged to the Commercial Court for nonpayment of up to 82 million shillings.

The money is said to have accrued from the services of an aircraft he hired during the last election campaigns.

In the documents before court, recipe it is alleged that Captain Mukula through his company of Sun Air Limited hired a Euro copter  A5 350 B3 Registration number 5Y-JNM from Flex charters company at a fee of Shs 500, medications 000 per flight hour and an additional 15 USD per cycle excluding
positioning and repositioning.

The Flight Company adds that by March 2016 Captain Mukula together with Sun Air Company had accumulated arrears amounting to Shs. 82 million, advice which he has failed to pay up to date despite in spite of the efforts to remind him.

The company now says it has suffered untold loss and has been inconvenienced by Capt Mukula’s actions, hence seeking court’ redress to compel Mukula pay the said money with an interest at the current commercial rate.

“We therefore pray that judgment be entered against the defendant for recovery of USD 24,295, General damages, interest at commercial rate from the date of default till full payment and the costs for this suit”

The court’s registrar Thaddeus Opesene has issued summons ordering Capt Mukula to file his defense within 15days.
