Caf CC: Vipers Aim For A Dream Start At Kitende

Vipers SC take on Platinum Stars in the first leg of the Caf confederation cup first round on Saturday at the same time officially opening the St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende.

Vipers progressed to this stage of a Caf competition for the first time in two attempts. They overcame Volcani De Moroni through away goal superiority. Platinum Stars beat Mozambican side Uniao De Songo 2-0 on aggregate.

“We can only win this game by scoring goals; the boys know exactly what it means to play at home,” Da Costa was quoted by club media.

“We must play as a unit, attack and deny our opponents any scoring chances. It is very important to us.”

The club has played five games at home this season; winning five and keeping three clean sheets.

Platinum stars comes into the game on the back of three consecutive wins where they scored seven and conceded only one. They stand on the eighth position in the PSL and arevthe fourth beat away team. They have lost only one on the road after nine outings.

“We have information on our opponents,” coach Cavin Johnson said. We know who their key players are, where they play and how they play. It’s not like they are a closed book. We are just going to take them with our technical ability our opponents.”
