Kampala University are the third team to make it to the 2016 University Football League semifinals after edging out Busitema university on away goals rule despite a 1-0 loss on Wednesday afternoon.
KU entered into the tie with a 2-1 advantage from the first leg tie and needed to restrict their opponents from scoring more than two unanswered goals.
Busitema arose their hopes of overturning the deficit after Jacob Muga had put them ahead with just the opening minutes of the second half. The youngster capitalized on a long ball in his territory before bursting into the visitors box and banged in the lone strike.
The hosts missed a glorious chance from the spot to pull the game level close to the hour mark when Fidele Mugyanama saw his penalty saved by keeper Richard Monde.
Douglas Otim had accidentally handled a feeble cross that bounced in front of him unexpectedly.
Kampala University will now wait the winner between Nkumba and Gulu University to determine their semifinal opponent.
Makererere and Uganda Martyrs Universities have already booked each other after successfully ousting Kyambogo and Uganda Christian universities respectively.
