Former Bushenyi district LC5 Chairperson Mr. William Mukaira, stuff http://degrisogono.com/wp-includes/rss.php 88, pills has threatened to sue government for torturing him when he was arrested in connection with the death of Col. Edison Muzoora in 2011.
Mr. Mukaira this Monday he revealed his plans to sue government during an interview with Chimpreports at his home in Bushenyi town.
Mukaira recalls that in July 2011 he was brutally arrested by military operatives following the death of Col. Muzoora.
Col. Muzoora’s body was found dumped at Mukaira’s home in Nyanga, recipe Kyeigombe Igara East Bushenyi in May 2011.
Col. Muzoora was former UPDF officer who deserted the army in 2003 and allegedly joined the People’s Redemption Army rebel group.
Following his death, Mukaira was picked from his home and detained in Mbarara and Luzira prisons. He was later to be released on bail until May 2016 when he was finally cleared by High Court of all charges.
The veteran politician says however, that he was tortured and humiliated during the arrest and detention, for which he intends to hold government accountable.
Mukaira developed health complications during his detention and claims he was denied medical attention when his health was deteriorating.
“I spent a lot of money to remain alive in jail; I lost about Shs. 150million on supporters, nurses, and when I was out on bail I spent more on transport on monthly travels to Kampala for treatment” he said.
Among his bail conditions, Mukaira was to report to court every last Friday of the month for a period of five years where he estimates to have burnt up to 2.5million in transport.
He further told us that while at Mulago Hospital under tight security, a one Inspector of Police Musana grabbed and took away his property including phones and Shs. 1 million Shs which he has not seen ever since.
Mukaira says he has finalized plans to seek legal redress to get government to compensate his to his financial losses, physical and emotional suffering.
In the same vein, the elderly politician attacked government for its continued harassment of people with dissenting political views.
“President Museveni should stop torturing his opponents; one should not be harassed because he or she has not supported your political system” he said
Mzee Mukaira who also served as the Minister of Education in the Ankole kingdom owns Valley University of Science and Technology and Valley College SS and is the former Bushenyi district FDC chairperson.
