The security situation in Burundi continues to deteriorate with former Minister of East African Community Affairs Hafsa Mossi being gunned down in the capital, http://deltadiner.com/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/wc-term-functions.php Bujumbura.

Police spokesman Pierre Nkurikiye said in a brief statement on Wednesday that Mossi was shot by two men along Gihosha Avenue in Nyankoni, http://coronaextra.com.au/wp-includes/class-wp-ajax-response.php Bujumbura.

The incident occurred at 10:30am before the assailants fled the scene.

Until her death, Mossi was a Burundian representative to the East African Legislative Assembly in Arusha.

The shooting comes against the backdrop of increased assassinations in the volatile capital.

Brigadier General Athanase Kararuza and his wife and daughter were this April killed in Bujumbura.

General Adolphe Nshimirimana, a former army Chief of Staff and head of Burundi’s Intelligence Service, was also killed in the wave of instability crippling the East African country’s economy.

Prominent government officials and military commanders have been targets of attacks in recent months.

Burundi slipped into turmoil when President Pierre Nkurunziza sought a third term in office amid protests from the people said he was ”saddened at the death of my friend and colleague, Hon Hafsa Mossi,” adding, “EAC has lost a tireless advocate.”
