Builders Association Urges Engineers on Quality

UNABCEC says the construction sector needs to be streamlined to do curtail such disasters as collapsing buildings due to to sub standards work

Uganda National Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (UNABCEC) has called upon engineers in the country to join the country to help streamline the construction sector.

This call follows continuous complaints about substandard work done by engineers and the multiple cases of buildings collapsing and killing people especially in urban areas.

Speaking at a press briefing yesterday, buy UNABCEC announced a one week sensitization and training at their headquarters at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) show grounds under the theme ‘promoting health and safety on construction sites.’

They even will be climaxed on Thursday at Hotel Africana 4pm.

According to Francis Karuhanga, cost the managing director UNABCEC, for sale the association during the week focus on educating, advocating, connecting and guiding engineers on saving.

They will educate engineers by giving them access to first class information and instructions on relevant topics from building construction, to civil engineering, safety and also establish affinity programs that will save their money when they purchase equipment, materials and tools.

Francis called on all contractors in Uganda to apply and be part of the association so that they can compete with the international market.
