Bank of Uganda on Saturday donated an Autoclave and Anaesthesia machine worth about Shs. 175 million to Rugyeyo Community Hospital in Kanungu district.
At the handover of the machine, diagnosis Bank of Uganda governor Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile in his message that was read for him by the Director of Banking Solomon Okecho asked the beneficiaries to ensure proper use accountability for what they receive.
Prof. Mutebile also called for more public private partnerships in the health sector in order to improve the wellbeing of the people saying that experience has shown that projects being run public private partnership with government are providing quality services to the communities.
Frank Byaruhanga who represented the local government said that ever since Rugyeyo health facility was put under the private sector arrangement, it has been able to provide services that could only be found in big hospitals.
Chrysostom Kayiise, the Kanungu District Chief Administrative Officer said that the district will continue to encourage public private partnerships to ensure that the people get quality services.
